Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 31, 2026. We built this service for authors, and we understand how important your unpublished work is. Here is exactly what happens to your data.

Your manuscript

  • Your manuscript is uploaded to our server, processed entirely in memory, and deleted immediately after your Scrivener project is generated.
  • We do not store your manuscript text on disk, in a database, or in any cloud storage service. Once the conversion is complete and you have downloaded your file, no copy of your manuscript remains on our systems.
  • Your manuscript is never used for AI training. We use the Anthropic Claude API for analysis, and Anthropic does not train on data sent through their API.
  • We do not read, review, or access the content of your manuscript for any purpose other than generating your Scrivener project.

The generated Scrivener project

  • Your completed .scriv project (zip file) is held temporarily in server memory so you can download it after payment. It is automatically deleted within one hour.
  • We do not keep copies of generated Scrivener projects.

Payment information

  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see, handle, or store your credit card number or payment details.
  • The only payment data we receive from Stripe is a confirmation that your payment was successful, so we can release your download.

What we collect

  • Nothing beyond what is needed for the transaction. We do not require an account. We do not ask for your name or email address (unless you contact us for support).
  • We use basic, anonymous page-view analytics to understand traffic. No cookies are used for tracking or advertising.

No accounts, no tracking

  • There are no user accounts and no login.
  • We do not use advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or third-party analytics that identify you personally.

GDPR and CCPA

  • Because we do not store personal data beyond the payment transaction (handled by Stripe), there is minimal data to manage. If you have questions or want to exercise your rights under GDPR or CCPA, contact us.

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate:

  • Anthropic Claude API — AI analysis of your manuscript. Anthropic does not train on API data.
  • Stripe — Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Vercel — Web hosting. No manuscript data is persisted on Vercel.

Changes to this policy

  • If we make changes, we will update this page with a new date. Our core commitment will not change: your manuscript is yours, and we will never store or use it beyond generating your Scrivener project.
